About Me
Thank you for visiting my Boise State University Education Technology ePortfolio. This ePortfolio showcases a collection of my work completed for the Masters of Educational Technology (M.E.T.) program at Boise State University. I started this program in 2009, while serving in the Army stationed in South Korea. I was an instructor in the Army for five years. Three years were spent teaching young Soldiers how to repair construction equipment, while the last two years I taught leadership skills. A lot has changed since then. I moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and retired from the Army in 2013.
My focus throughout this course has been on the theory and concepts of instructional design and the use of technology for adult learners. My focus may have been on adult learners, but you will see I found myself more and more pulled into the pedagogy of teaching K-12. I believe in being well rounded, so my emphasis in technology is centered on web design, video and interactive games, and simulations. Of course these are just tools for learning, so I built my foundation in learning theory, instructional design theory, and the understanding of pedagogy and andragogy.
Earlier this year I completed a Masters Certificate in Online Teaching. This ePortfolio is my final project for the M.E.T. program.
About my work
In this ePortfolio you will find my collection of artifacts (completed projects) mapped to the Association of Education Communication and Technology (AECT) standards. Each artifact is described and then linked to a standard in the Rationale paper. I described how each fulfill the standard and reflect on my learning along the way.
Visit my Reflection Video and get a better understanding on what I have learned throughout this program and how it will affect my future development.
